This park features a gravel and sand beach, paved walkways, picnic facilities, and a pier. Fishing is permitted from the pier, but a license is required.
The waterfront Ambleside Park is considered West Vancouver's most popular park. In addition to the beach and picnic areas, the park offers an outdoor pool, mini golf, playing fields and courts, sailing facilities and concessions. The park is located on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet, at the mouth of the Capilano River.
This 32.4-hectare park features spectacular waterfalls in a rainforest setting. Trails start from the East End of the playfield, with an easy 5-minute hike to the lower falls. To do the full circuit of the trails would take approximately 1 hour. The trails take visitors through breathtaking scenery and through a valley of 250 – 300 year old trees.
A 75-hectare (185-acre) lighthouse reserve located at the western mouth of the Burrard Inlet, this park derives its name from the Point Atkinson Lighthouse which stands on the rugged tip of the park's peninsula. Lighthouse Park's old growth forests, views of the inlet, Vancouver and Vancouver Island, coupled with varied terrain and some challenging trails make it an attractive area to explore. Picnic areas, public facilities and information kiosks are located in and around the park and guided tours are available.
Located between the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal and the Sewell Marina, this is one of West Vancouver’s most highly used parks. Featured in the park are two totem poles and a 5000-pound cast-bronze propeller from a converted whaling ship, providing symbolic reminders of the park’s rich and varied history. The park also has a gravel beach and paved walking paths.
One of West Vancouver’s most frequented parks. Dundarave offers almost 1 hectare of seaside area with over 50 metres of wide sandy beach. It also marks the beginning of the West Vancouver Centennial Seawalk. The park features washrooms, picnic tables, a plaground, a kiddie pool, a concession and a unique fountain. The German Friendship Globe is a 2.5 tonne granite globe which sits in a basin, resting on a thin cushion of pressurized water, and can be turned at the touch of a hand.
